I have moved more times than I can count.
Since the beginning of high school, I have moved 4 times, and that doesn’t include the 3 moves back and forth from college, and the 3 months I spent in New York City last summer for a grand total of 8 moves in 6 years. Throughout all of this – I have become a somewhat of a professional packer.
Things to keep in mind when you’re packing:
-Sort, sort, and sort again.
-Multiple sized of boxes.
-Move how you live.
Every time I come home from school, hurricane Maria comes with me. My clothes litter the entirety of my home for a few days so I can sort. The longer it takes you to pack, the easier it will be to unpack. I am most meticulous when packing my clothes and shoes. My boxes consist of: gym clothes, comfy clothes (sweats and pj’s), linens, and cami’s. Everything else will be hung. They are grouped by what purpose they serve (work clothes, going out, casual day, etc). As for my shoes? Each type has it’s own container.
I may be crazy, but unpacking will be that much easier!
Tomorrow, I move to my first and very own apartment (with three fabulous roommates who will join me in August). I have been home for exactly a week. To get my life together and get ready to start something new.
